The Weekend and Night Before Christmas

Jack was very excited this year about opening presents. One of his new favorite things to say is "Open it." He could not wait for us to get finished eating so he could start opening gifts. He got two of the planes from the movie Planes. He would not put them down. As he opened other gifts he held on to the planes.

He was just excited to take every piece of paper off each box. He was over whelmed with all the gifts and so excited he did not wanted to go to sleep.

On Christmas Eve we opened our PJs. I think Jack was a little sad to see he only got PJs. He was excited about seeing the planes on them.

He wanted to help open Daddy's and Mommy's, and was disappointed when there were only PJS in the boxes.

This year it was a little harder to take a family photo. I would get the camera set up, set the timer, run over, and Jack would not sit still. This was the best photo I could get. Daddy helped sprinkle the reindeer food this year. Jack was more excited about seeing the moon outside.

We left chocolate milk for Santa this year. Jack got his first taste of chocolate milk and drank it all. I read The Night Before Christmas to Jack and then it was time for bed.

Getting Ready for the Holidays

We have been very busy getting ready for the holiday season. We finally found a dining room table that we liked. Jack had to help Brent put the legs on. He would watch Brent then try to do the same thing on the other side.

When we got out of school the Tuesday before Thanksgiving it was snowing. This is a picture I took while sitting at the red light. It snowed so hard on the way home it was hard to see. We have been out of school for one snow day and released two hours early another. No big snow yet.

We purchased a fake tree this year. Jack had to be the first one to put an ornament on the tree. He got to put his train ornament on first.

Jack made a chain at daycare to count down the days to Christmas. He liked pulled it apart.

Parker came to play and spend the night. Jack was very sweet and shared all his toys with Parker.

No holiday season is complete without a trip to see Santa. Jack has never been scared of Santa or any person dressed up....until now. He was fine talking to Mrs. Clause but when it came time to sit on Santa's lap he was not happy. So this year I smiled and had my picture taken with Santa.

Fall Fun

Jack and his daycare friends had a fun day. Our principal got the daycare kids some bouncy houses so they could have a fun day. I made Jack and his friends pumpkin hats to celebrate the fun day. They were all so good and got out of the bouncy houses, put the hats on, and sat for a photo.

Brent started racking all the leaves in our yard. The best part of racking leaves is jumping in the piles. Jack loved jumping in the piles and playing in the leaves.

Halloween

This was the first year we had to work together to get the costume on Jack. Or course he had a home made costume (they always look better then store bought). This was an easy one to make and no sewing skills were required.

Even though Jack loves Woody he was not excited about wearing the hat. We went to our neighbor Mr. Jim's house first. Of course we were the first trick-or-treaters. The we crossed the road to see the Smith family. They let Jack pick his candy out and he picked the Spider-Man candy.

Then we headed up the road to our neighbor Drew's house. Drew is in 1st grade but Jack thinks Drew is super cool. On our way to Drew's Jack was like a dog chasing his tail. He realized the bandana was following him and he started walking in a circle chasing it.

Of course the best part of Halloween was handing out the candy. Jack loved seeing all the kids. I thought it was funny to see all the kids from school who were surprised to see Mrs. Kent giving out candy.

At the end of the night Jack was ready to crash. However, he was not giving the candy up.

Fall Break

One of the best parts of being a teacher is getting Fall Break. We took Jack to Destin this year and he loved it. We could not wait to take him to the beach so we go up early and took him in his PJ's. When we made it to the board walk he was so excited to see the water. Then when we got to the sand he changed his mind. He did not like the sand sticking to his feet. He got over it pretty quick and headed to the water with Brent.

We took him to the docks to see the fisherman coming in. They were weighing fish for the Fishing Rodeo so we saw a lot of fish. We mostly just enjoyed hanging out on the beach. Jack just wanted to relax for a minute.

Then he decided it was time to play. He ran around the beach and had a great time. He loved to chase the birds and play with other kids on the beach. He really loved being in the water with Brent and playing. The water was just perfect for him. He wore himself out playing.
Jack's new favorite toy is the ipad. He says play and nods his head until he get to play with the ipad. He loves the song "The Wheels on the Bus" so he was super excited to see this bus. He just wanted to check it out.

We took him to the play ground to play. He though this was a bus and wanted to ride it. We had a wonderful vacation. On the way home Jack got a Moon Pie as a special treat.
